Cake Camp

My dad signed her up when they ordered the rainbow wolf cake.

Kathy of Kathy's Kreative Kakes is the mastermind behind this genius summer idea.

But I barely made it past the sign.

I have BIG issues when wrong letters replace right letters.

Do you get what I'm saying?

Like, for example. My name is Jessica. But If your name is Jessyka. We can't be friends.

Horribly shallow. I know. It's my problem. Not yours.

Back to camp.

It happens to be Grandma Yellow Cee Cee's birthday today and we celebrated last night.

Lucky her.

She got a mermaid, marshmallow crab, orange-slice-on-a-toothpick, beachscape buttercream extravaganza.

Which was better than the other options.

Like the boy with the huge lump of red buttercream, anxiously looking for "bodies" in the plastic figurine bin.

In addition to Grandma's delicious cake, they made chocolate chip cookies.

Dave said they were better than mine.

And I think he really meant it.

They also made sugar cookies with royal icing "like all the princesses use."

Kobi ate those.

Camp lasted 3 days.

Which I think is all Kathy could take.

It was krazy kool.

  1. Loving that KK got to hang out with Kathy. And her Kakes.

Will you disown me? Because i am KimberLEE after all.

    But - big BUT here - I am REPLACING A Y. That's how I view it.
    Least favorite letter.
    By far.

Can you roll with the double E?

  4. Is JacQUie ok? Or does that bother you? Even though it's technically the proper female way to shorten my full name (jacqueline). I'm scared.

And I love decorating cakes!! And it can be quite a lucrative side business...Kayla should hone that craft!

  5. I feel that I ought to explain that my general use internet name is "Jessicah" because my name is Jessica H. Not because I spell my name in a weird, non-approved sort of fashion. :)

Also, cake camp! Awesome! I would have L-O-V-E-D that!

  6. What a fun summer Cake Camp... can I go with KK next year to camp?! :)! I hate when people swap out letters just so it can be an alliteration too...

  11. Before I even read the post I couldn't get over the "k's" in that sign. Ugh! Makes me crazy! I lived in a small town that had a restaurant named Karen's Kountry Korner... never ate there and never wanted to because of the "KKK" initials... just annoyed me!

But, on the other hand, I misuse punctuation all of the time. :o)

  12. i totally have issues with people replacing letters...not okay. It makes my eyes & brain hurt.
I worked at a summer camp in college called Kanakuk Kamps & they replaced everything with k's. ahhh!!!
Glad KK had fun at Kake Kamp.
